The game has an improved graphics package, which is sharper, more vibrant and just generally looking better. Unlike the first game, where Colin's character was a part of the side-story, Colin has now become an important main character in the story line. Colin is soon off on a mission to find the mysterious Master Emerald, where he hopes to save the world and pick up a new friend along the way. On the day he turns sixteen, Sonic the Hedgehog decides that it is his turn to go into adventure. Colin McRae is a young driver from a poor family who is looking to get back into the big game.
The game is an updated version of the hit Sega re-make 'Sonic the Hedgehog' for the Gamecube. Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is a follow up on the successful 'Sonic the Hedgehog' video game franchise.
